Friends, How Many of us Have Them!?

Thinking about this catchy tune by Houdini, it's clear that he probably didn't plan for it to become such a famous saying, but it sure did! As I hum this cool song, I can't help but think about real friends. You know, the ones who may seem like they're not your type at first, but end up being your closest pals. And then there are those who you instantly click with, but they usually don't stick around for long, maybe just a couple of years. When I think about my real friends, not the ones on social media like MySpace or Facebook, but the ones who are like family, it's a big deal.

About a year ago, I made a new friend and thought they were super genuine. But it turned out that they weren't. I'm the kind of person who cares a lot and lets people in easily, maybe too easily. I really liked this friend and respected their opinions, even though I usually don't care about what most people think. But over time, it felt like they were pulling away, and our friendship started to fade.

I tried to fix things, but it just made it worse. The more I pushed, the more they pulled away. It hurt to see a friendship I cared so much about going down the drain. But I have too much pride to make someone like me when they don't want to. Like they say, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." So, I decided to stop fighting for the friendship. If it comes back, it's really meant to be.

I'm sharing this to see if my friend will read it and maybe make amends. And also, to let everyone know that you don't really choose your friends; they come into your life when you least expect it, and sometimes when you need them the most.
