Thoughts on all this cosmetic craze

Okay, so I’ve been noticing a ton of shows lately like Extreme Makeover where people go through what feels like, I dunno, major surgery to totally change their bodies. And I get it—sometimes it’s not medical, it’s just to tweak your nose, get a facelift, tummy tuck… the list goes on. But what really makes someone decide to go that far just to be “perfect”?

Sometimes it starts small—maybe a tiny tweak here or there—but then it’s like, one thing leads to another. And then there’s Michael Jackson… yikes. Poor guy went way overboard and ended up looking, well… different. Makes you wonder if it’s love for yourself or actually a bit of self-hate?

What really gets me is how obsessed everyone is with looks and staying young. Ads are everywhere, especially for us girls, promising wrinkle-free skin, younger-looking faces… you’ve probably already heard of Botox, right? And then there’s the whole pressure about your body—size, boobs, shape… like somehow your worth is tied to your looks. And if it “helps” with dating or whatever, then why not?

Honestly, I’m pretty comfy in my own skin. Imperfections? Totally part of being me. Sure, I’ve wished I could change little things, but not enough to ever go full-on surgery mode. I think the key is learning to love yourself and your body just as it is—whatever shape, size, or curve you’ve got.

And seriously… don’t buy the lie that changing how you look will make your life perfect. Looks are cute, but happiness? That’s way deeper than a nose job or a new boob size.
