The Way Mr. Meraux Moves

So, y’all… sometimes people just appear and make you look twice. That was Mr. Meraux for me. I first caught sight of him on campus, striding free,..,Something about the way he carried himself... it was magnetic. At the time, I had no clue how old he was. Just a presence that lingered.

Fast forward to that random afternoon at I saw him at Starbucks, I don’t even drink coffee, but that day? I was having it all. You know the type: tall cup, messy notes sprawled across the table, pretending I’m busy but really stealing glances at him. That’s when he mentioned it casually, like it was nothing: 36. I blinked, counted in my head. I’m 19. But honestly, it didn’t make him any less intriguing. If anything, it made his calm, self-assured energy stand out more.

Turns out, Mr. Meraux isn’t just campus eye candy. He’s doing something unexpectedly cerebral: Urban Planning and Community Design, The type of job that makes you respect someone just by the way they talk about it, with precision and care, yet still moves through the world like it’s second nature. Meanwhile, me? I’m just a student, wrapped up in my sorority duties, handling paperwork and coordinating events, keeping the wheels turning for my sisters while sneaking in moments of curiosity about him.

There’s something thrilling about watching someone navigate life with ease, knowing you’re just a spectator. yet feeling every small ripple of attention they throw your way. Mr. Meraux has that. And while I have classes, meetings, and my own obligations, sometimes all I can do is steal a quiet moment, notice the way he moves, and wonder what it would be like to be closer to that energy...just for a second.
