Are we Still Flushing Tampons these days?

Isn't it wild how we absorb things as kids and just go with them? Like, when I started using tampons, I was so meticulous about following the instructions on the box, and they clearly said to flush them after use. So, for years, that's exactly what I did! It wasn't until I was in my late twenties, and already using menstrual cups, that someone pointed out you're not supposed to flush tampons. Mind blown!

Looking back, it's kind of funny how I interpreted those bathroom signs saying "do not flush sanitary products" as just meaning pads and applicators. I guess I never thought to question what I learned way back when I was 12!

But hey, it's not just me. So many of us aren't properly educated about our periods. It's a shame we don't talk about them more openly.  Also, why the stigma around throwing tampons in the trash? It's no different from tossing out any other dirty stuff, right?
