There is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9), and false doctrines have always existed, masquerading as enlightenment. Many ancient sorcerers and mystics attempted to manipulate power through rituals, yet all were condemned:
"There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer." – Deuteronomy 18:10
Many today claim to be “light and dark workers,” "oracles," or "alchemists," blending esoteric ideas with stolen African, Indigenous, and biblical themes. These ideas are neither African nor scriptural; they are a modern mishmash designed to deceive. African wisdom traditions valued practical knowledge, community, and honor—not mysticism wrapped in hashtags and buzzwords. The truth is simple: these teachings are leading people further into confusion, not enlightenment.
