Authority and the Shape of Justice

Authority only holds legitimacy when it moves toward a just end. Rightful authority is not domination. It is human power acting in an appropriately human way according to natural law. Anything else becomes tyranny dressed in legal language. ⚖️ Authority itself comes in only a few forms. It is bestowed, acquired, or adjoined. But no authority sustains itself without reason. All legal systems, no matter how complex, draw their unity from reason. Without it, law collapses into force. And force alone never produces justice.
