So how about Kayla popped up over here with her overdramatic self, flopping on my couch to tell me about a situation she done got herself involved in.
"Girl, I think I messed up."
I just stare at her, waiting for the inevitable bomb to drop. 💣
"I think I like somebody else."
Oh, here we go. I sit up, bracing myself. "Kayla…" I drag her name out, giving her the look. 👀
Then she drops the real mess—she met this dude at that frat party last weekend, been texting him way too much, and now she’s all in her feelings. Says she hasn’t done anything … then immediately follows it up with, "Okay, well… I kinda sent him a couple nudes."
I damn near choke on my drink. "KAYLA!" 😳😱
She throws her hands up. "I KNOW, I KNOW! It just happened!"
I just stare at her. "No, ma’am. That don’t just happen." 😤
And now, in classic Kayla spiraling through life and dragging me into it fashion, she wants me to help her figure out what to do before this whole thing blows up in her face. 🤦🏾♀️
I lay it out plain. "You got two options, sis. One—be real with your man and figure out why you’re looking outside your relationship. Two—cut this new guy off now, before you let him hit it, ‘cause once that happens, you ain’t coming back from it." 🛑
She groans, covering her face. "But what if I just… see where it goes?"
I snatch the pillow she’s hiding under. "Girl, NO." 😂 I laugh, but I’m dead serious. "This ain’t about him—it’s about you. You want something different, maybe something more. But that alone ain’t a reason to wreck what you got."
She sits up, looking all conflicted. "But what if this new guy is what I need?"
I roll my eyes so hard they almost get stuck. 🙄 "Sis, how you need somebody you met at a party? You don’t even know if he washes his sheets." 🤢
Kayla groans. "Ugh, you’re so right."
"Of course I’m right," I smirk. 😏 "Look, if he’s just a little thrill, put him on pause and focus on what’s real. But if you can’t stop thinking about him? Then you need to take a long look at your relationship before you make a move you’ll regret. Because cheating? We. Don’t. Do. That. Foolery." 🚫
She sighs again, rubbing her temples like I just overloaded her brain. 🧠💥 But I know she heard me.
At the end of the day, life is messy. We party, we make dumb decisions, we laugh through the chaos. But at some point, we gotta stop acting like we don’t already know the truth.
And Kayla? She’s gonna have to face hers—sooner rather than later.
Because chasing a frat boy fantasy might feel exciting, but losing herself over a dude she barely knows? That’s a straight-up goofy move. And we don’t do those. 🚫🤡
