You wouldn't believe the utter nonsense I have to put up with! No matter how impeccably dressed I am, the moment I step out for a leisurely stroll downtown, boom! Suddenly, I'm pegged as a ho or a sex worker by these crusty old white dudes. I mean, seriously?! All I wanted was to mind my own business, waiting for breakfast at a swanky hotel in NYC, and this old coot wouldn't stop invading my space!
And get this, I talked to a friend, and she's dealing with the same garbage! Apparently, just because we prefer dresses, we're automatically stamped with the ho or sex worker label. When did this absurdity even begin? And let's not even get started on the blatant double standards! White girls get a pass while we're left here getting hassled for absolutely no reason!
I'm telling you, there's nowhere safe for us. I could be dressed to the nines, heading to work, and some homeless guy has the audacity to make lewd comments! Like, what's wrong with these people?! And then they have the nerve to call me "stuck up" or "too much effort"? Excuse me?
Are we, attractive black women, doomed to forever be mistaken for hoes or sex workers in places like Philly and NYC? It's beyond infuriating, and I'm sick and tired of it!
