Hey y’all, just wanted to share some thoughts on singing that really hit home for me. Singers, you gotta trust yourselves and your abilities! It’s all about that mind-body connection, and it’s a journey that never really ends. 🌟
I came across this awesome quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string." Isn’t that just perfect for us singers? 🎶 Once you’ve got your technique down, it’s all about the psychology. You gotta believe in your heart that you can do it, and your mind will follow.
If my mind’s playing tricks and my heart’s not in it, my larynx can act up. When that happens, I need to chill and keep my throat nice and relaxed. If I’m singing something that’s right for me, I need to truly believe I can nail it. That belief starts in the heart. 💖
Other folks might tell me I can do it, but when I believe it myself, that’s when the magic happens. Confidence starts in practice, with trusted ears listening. I can’t always hear myself clearly, just like I can’t hear myself when I talk, y’all know what I mean? 😅
Trusting my voice in public is a whole other challenge. That’s when trusting from the heart becomes even more crucial. When I trust my technique, my mind backs me up, and that confidence shines through to the audience. That iron string of confidence is real!
Performing from a place of trust is an incredible feeling. It’s not easy to get there, but it’s so worth it. Sometimes I catch myself singing from my mind instead of my heart. We need a balance of both. Sure, there are times to think technically, but overthinking every note is just judging ourselves, and that blocks the heart from being in the music.
When my heart is fully in the moment of a song, my mind follows, and the audience feels that vibe. So, trust your voice, sing from the heart, and let that iron string pull everyone in! 💖🎤
Love y’all, and keep singing! 🎶✨
