The College Days: When It All Began
Before bylaws and responsibilities, before we truly understood what we were building, it was just a few of us with a vision and a whole lot of faith. Some of our best moments happened when we were just figuring things out.
💡 Brainstorming sessions that turned into all-night debates. Sierra was always the logical one, trying to keep us focused, while Kayla was ready to throw out the wildest ideas. Erica? She was the one reminding us we had class in the morning. And me? I was somewhere in between, balancing faith, frustration, and that “we gotta make this work” energy.
🍕 Late-night meetings that turned into food runs. We said we were working, but somehow, we always ended up at a diner, splitting fries and laughing until we couldn’t breathe. The best ideas came at 2 AM over beignets and coffee, and the worst ones? Well… let’s just say we’re glad we didn’t go through with some of them.
📖 “Studying” together, but really just bonding. One minute we were reviewing bylaws, the next we were reminiscing about childhood stories, comparing playlists, and roasting each other’s handwriting. Lambda Psi Chi was formed in those small moments—not just in the formalities, but in the connection.
The Formation: When It Got Real
The moment it really hit us? The first time we saw Lambda Psi Chi on paper. Seeing our ideas, our values, and our structure laid out made it real. But beyond that, it was about looking around and knowing that we were building something that would last.
Kayla always said, “If we ever doubted we were supposed to do this, this right here should remind us.” And she was right.
Of course, not everything was smooth. We had plenty of trial and error—from event planning disasters to realizing we couldn’t afford half the things we wanted to do (remember when we thought we could rent out a whole venue for free? 😂). But every misstep taught us something, and every success reminded us why we kept going.
