The Mirror that you cannot exempt your black son from.

“Black men are violent.”
→ My son is violent.

“Black men are criminals.”
→ My son is a criminal.

“Black men don’t provide.”
→ My son won’t provide.

“Black men are the biggest threat to Black women.”
→ My son is the biggest threat.

“Black men lack discipline.”
→ My son lacks discipline.

“Black men are unstable partners.”
→ My son will be unstable.

“Black men are emotionally unavailable.”
→ My son won’t know how to love.

“Black men are irresponsible fathers.”
→ My son will abandon his children.

“Black men are dangerous.”
→ My son is dangerous.

There’s no separation.
No exception clause protecting your son.

If you speak about Black men as a fixed group…
your son is standing inside that, whether you acknowledge it or not.

If he belongs to the group, he inherits the words.

What you generalize, you pass down.
