What people see: A loner. Private. Quiet. Maybe even a little aloof. Someone who keeps to herself, avoids small talk, and seems comfortable in her own controlled chaos. People think they know me based on the side I present to them in any given moment.
The truth: I am multidimensional. I am the calm and the storm. I am the homebody who values her space, and I am the free spirit who craves the energy of life outside the walls. I am deliberate with my presence and selective with my attention...but make no mistake, I am fully alive and unapologetically myself. I do not shrink to fit others’ expectations. I expand to inhabit the entirety of who I am, even if all sides cannot be seen at once.
The perception: You’re predictable. You’re either “quiet” or “wild,” “lonely” or “social,” “reserved” or “flirtatious.”
The truth: I am neither fully one nor the other...I am all of it. I am deliberate in revealing layers, and my seeming contradictions are a feature, not a flaw. I am a chameleon when necessary, but I am never lost; I am always sovereign. My presence cannot be simplified into a single narrative.
The bottom line: People perceive what they can process. I am more than perception. I am the sum of my choices, my desires, and my unapologetic embrace of all the sides of me...even the ones that make others uncomfortable.
