You ever see a love story so short it don’t even get through TSA on the way back home? That’s this one. Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds went from “soulmates under the sunset” to “amicable separation” faster than your Bluetooth drops connection.
They released that classic celebrity joint statement—you know the type: “After much consideration and discussion, we have decided…” Brother. C’mon. Ain’t no “much consideration” in two weeks. That’s not a discussion, that’s a follow-up text.
They said the Bora Bora ceremony was “symbolic.” I believe them. Symbolic of how quick Hollywood love evaporates when the vacation tan fades. Word is, things got loud on that island. Eddie was out there raising his voice like he was still in rehearsal for Coming to America 3: The Argument.
But here’s the part I love ...everyday folks like us watching it unfold and realizing, for once, we’re doing just fine. No Bora Bora, no statement to PEOPLE magazine, no “spiritual union,” just peace, food in the fridge, and our sanity intact.
Sometimes it’s good to see that fame don’t make you immune to foolishness. It just gives you a press release to dress it up.
Lesson of the Day: Never confuse ceremony for connection. Bora Bora sunsets fade but self-awareness? That’s the real honeymoon.
