First things first , thank You, God.
For every door, every covering, every quiet grace that carried me through weeks I didn’t even narrate out loud. I see it. I honor it. I’m grateful for it.
Now… can we talk about August for a minute?
Because when did summer pack its bags so fast?
One minute we’re saying “school’s out,” and the next we’re sipping pumpkin flavors and blinking in disbelief.
Since the year is moving like a track on fast-forward, I figured it’s time we mark moments differently. So here it is — something new I want to do with y’all: Song of the Month.
We all live in different cities, states, vibes, and playlists — so I’m curious: what song is owning your heart right now?
For me?
My Southern soul spirit has been well fed lately.
Right now, the crown belongs to T.K. Soul — “Try Me.”
Ladies… when I tell you it’s smooth enough to mend cracked edges?
That “I can feel, it’s the real thing…” line alone will pause your pulse and lower your blood pressure. I’m convinced he recorded that in candlelight and satin, because whew.
And listen, just because my soul leans Southern doesn’t mean my playlist doesn’t have range.
For my R&B girls, my emotional support anthem this month is Maxwell — “Pretty Wings.”
All I’m saying is: turn up the volume, relax your shoulders, and really listen — the instruments, the layering, that voice?
Timeless. He understood the assignment in 2009, and the ink still isn’t dry.
So tell me, Sis:
What’s your song? The one you play twice. The one that changes the air when it comes on. The one that feels personal.
Drop it in the comments. Let’s soundtrack each other’s days.
Until next time…
