St, Patrick's Day

So, let's talk about St. Patrick's Day. It's a peculiar holiday, isn't it? I mean, we celebrate this saint who supposedly drove snakes out of Ireland, but in reality, it's more about spreading Christianity and asserting power. The whole symbolism of snakes representing the Irish people is downright offensive when you

This isn't me!

think about it.

Yet here we are, embracing St. Patrick's Day as some kind of Irish Pride Day. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for celebrating culture and heritage, but there's something unsettling about it. And don't even get me started on St. Valentine's Day – a romantic evening tied to a religious holiday? It's a bit odd, don't you think?

I was surprised today by how many people dressed in green. I stopped caring about that when I was a kid. But some still go all out. Thankfully, I didn't see anyone wearing those "Kiss Me I'm Irish" buttons – talk about cringeworthy. As a child, I wore green to avoid pinching, not because I had any real connection to Ireland. I still avoid places where pinching might be a thing, to be honest.

Being a kid isn't easy, especially on holidays with all these mandatory behaviors. And don't even get me started on the bizarre birthday tradition where guys think it's okay to punch you repeatedly. What's that even about? Some strange way of letting out aggression, I suppose. I prefer channeling that energy into discussions like this rather than birthday punches. Makes more sense to me.

Just like St. Patrick's Day – I don't quite get it. But hey, at least I can tie it all together thematically, right? That's how you know you're reading a real, thoughtful blog, not just some random ramblings.
