New Orleans has mostly been led by Democrats, but thinking that switching to Republicans would fix corruption oversimplifies things. Even though some scandals involved conservative politicians, corruption isn't tied to just one party.
Nearby areas, run by Republicans, often blame New Orleans for their own problems. This doesn't help and just creates more division.
People often make rude comments about New Orleans, like making fun of us or saying they're glad they don't live here. It's hurtful and doesn't solve anything.
Some folks stereotype crimes based on race, which isn't fair and ignores the real issues.
We need to understand each other better and work together to fix our problems. Blaming each other or sticking to stereotypes won't help us move forward.
