Darth Vader, once known as Anakin Skywalker, is one of the most compelling characters in film history. His life is a cyclical journey from good to evil, and finally, back to good. Anakin starts as a confident young boy in Episode I, declared the Chosen One due to his strong connection with the Force. Despite Yoda's warnings about Anakin's future being clouded and sensing great confusion and fear in him, Obi-Wan insists on training him. This decision leads to disastrous consequences.
Anakin grows arrogant, angry, and impulsive, consistently defying Obi-Wan's guidance. His secret marriage to Padmé, which violates the Jedi Order's rules, further complicates his life. Anakin's inability to listen and follow orders ultimately seals his fate. He becomes a conflicted man with more power than he can handle, unable to control his anger.

In Episode VI, "Return of the Jedi," Luke tells the Emperor that his overconfidence is his weakness, mirroring Anakin's lifelong struggle. Anakin's impatience, another significant flaw, repeatedly causes his downfall. He craves recognition and power, making him susceptible to the Emperor's manipulations, leading him to believe the Jedi are his enemies.
Anakin's story is that of a troubled individual who needed therapy but was instead consumed by his problems. His anger at Obi-Wan for perceived hindrances becomes evident in Episode II, "Attack of the Clones." Anakin’s rashness leads him to attack Count Dooku prematurely, resulting in the loss of his arm. His uncontrollable rage peaks when he massacres an entire tribe in revenge for his mother's death.
The injuries from his reckless actions leave him dependent on the iconic breathing apparatus to survive. Until the end of Episode V, "The Empire Strikes Back," Vader is driven by an insatiable lust for power, emblematic of the dark side. However, meeting his son Luke sparks a shift in his feelings. Despite his anger and hatred, love for his son begins to surface.
This newfound love for Luke becomes Anakin's path back to the light. In "Return of the Jedi," Anakin redeems himself by sacrificing his life for Luke. Unable to endure seeing Luke in pain as the Emperor tortures him with Force lightning, Vader seizes the Emperor and throws him to his death. This act of defiance destroys his life-support system, leaving him unable to breathe or walk. Anakin dies shortly after Luke removes his mask, but not before achieving redemption.
In death, Anakin Skywalker learns his ultimate lesson, completing his journey from a promising young Jedi to the feared Darth Vader, and finally, a redeemed father.
