Y’all, I don’t know what kind of deal Mother Nature made, but we are about to be frozen solid down here. The Arctic blast is rolling in, and let me tell you—it’s already ridiculously cold, and we haven’t even hit the worst of it yet. The news keeps screaming, “Snow! Freeze! Chaos!” and honestly? I believe them.
The last time I saw real snow in Louisiana was back in 2008, right around Christmas. It was one of the most beautiful things I’d ever seen—flakes actually falling from the sky, covering everything in this quiet, magical white. Of course, it being Louisiana, it rained right after, turned everything into a wet, slushy mess, and by the next day, it was all gone. But for those few hours? Pure winter wonderland.
Now, they’re saying this might be even bigger than 2008. A proper freeze. Possibly more snow. And if that happens, we might actually get to enjoy it before it turns into a swampy disaster.
So, if you haven’t stocked up on blankets, coffee, and whatever snacks get you through the cold, now’s the time. Stay warm, stay safe, and if it does snow? Get outside, take it in—because who knows when we’ll see it again.
