The Freeze is coming

Y’all. The way people are panicking like we’re about to get hit by a full-blown ice storm is sending me. The stores are WIPED OUT. No water, no bread, no snacks—folks are acting like the world is ending. Meanwhile, all we’re getting is a freeze and maybe some overnight snow. Maybe. But if you walked into Rouses today, you’d think we were prepping for another Katrina.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m not saying we shouldn’t be prepared. I’ve got my blankets, layers, and emergency stash ready. I’m not about to play with this cold, especially since my house isn’t exactly built for it. It’s already freezing inside, and it’s only 49° outside. No real heat system, but listen—we’ve survived worse. I’ll bundle up, keep my layers on, and make it through the night like always.

I’ve been talking to my family about how we’re handling this. Making sure we’ve all got what we need, checking in just in case this freeze decides to act up. We’re used to hurricane prep, but this? This is a whole different beast. We’re built for heat, not ice! But still, we’re making it work.

I might stay up to watch the snow if it actually happens. If not, I’ll see it in the morning. Either way, this is about to be one crazy night.
