Finding Strength in Healing

Hey y'all, let me share somethin' real with you. As we stepped into this new year, I felt the weight of expectations pressing down on me, you know? It's like there's this pressure to grow, to become better versions of ourselves.

So, I had this heart-to-heart with one of

my sisters, and she laid bare her journey to me. It's been a real soul-searching ride for her, facing life's toughest trials with strength and grace.

Last December, she confessed something that hit deep. When I asked her about her word for the year, she admitted, "I haven't settled on one yet." She joked about "sleep," but it was more than that. It was about healing, about finding her way back to herself.

The road to healing ain't easy, y'all. It's about being brutally honest with ourselves, about letting our truths flow freely. My girl, she's been showing up for herself in ways I admire, acknowledging the struggle but refusing to let it define her.

She's saying no to all those surface-level resolutions, putting her well-being first, and not pretending to be strong when she's hurting inside.

Beneath all that uncertainty and exhaustion, she's dealing with past traumas that cut deep. From accidents to messed-up relationships to the grind of frontline work during this crazy pandemic, it's been rough. But she's facing it head-on, digging deep to understand her pain.

Setting boundaries has become her lifeline, you know? Learning to say no and mean it, taking care of herself without apology. She's finding solace in prayer, meditation, pouring her heart out in journals, and yeah, therapy too.

But damn, it's a bumpy road. For every step forward, there's a stumble back. Life keeps throwing curveballs, testing her resolve at every turn.

Yet, through it all, she's holding onto her faith, believing she's not in this alone. She's finding strength in vulnerability, in being real with herself and with us. And she's holding onto hope, trusting that healing is possible, no matter how hard the journey.

Her story is a testament to the power of sisterhood, to the importance of setting boundaries and taking care of ourselves. And as we walk alongside her on this journey, may we find our own strength, our own courage to heal and grow.
